The neighborhoods we pass every day hold stories worth knowing. Richmond sits at the northern edge of the East Bay, where the hills roll down to meet the water — a city built by shipyards, held together by families who stayed for generations, and quietly rediscovering itself one street at a time.

This is where CallKarki starts. Not because it is the easiest place to sell a house, but because it is the place we know best — the corner stores on Macdonald Avenue, the fog rolling over the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, the Saturday mornings at the marina. The stories on this page are the first entries in an ongoing series; more will be added as they are reported.

Editorial content on this page is being built out with real reporting. Placeholder sections below are clearly marked — nothing here is fabricated as fact.

Point Richmond
Waterfront & Parks

Where the city meets the Bay.

Richmond’s shoreline runs along the San Francisco Bay Trail, connecting the marina, Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline, and the historic Point Richmond waterfront — one of the East Bay’s most underrated stretches of coastline.

History & Culture

Built by the home front.

Richmond’s modern identity is inseparable from World War II: the Kaiser Shipyards here built ships around the clock, and the workforce that powered them — including thousands of women, immortalized as “Rosie the Riveter” — reshaped the city. That history is preserved today at the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park, run by the National Park Service.
